Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically able individual to join our team as a Residential Helper at Waste Pro. As a key member of our refuse collection team, you will be responsible for assisting our drivers in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the safe and efficient collection of waste and recyclables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist drivers in collecting waste and recyclables from residential customers, including lifting and carrying trash bags, bulk items, and containers.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and directing residents to contact Customer Service or government offices as needed.
  • Ensure garbage and recyclables are picked up and transferred properly, including using back doors when necessary.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures, including ANSI, OSHA, and Waste Pro Absolute Guidelines.
  • Assist drivers in safely backing up the truck and cleaning the compactor blade and hopper as directed.
  • Report any safety or customer service issues to drivers and supervisors immediately.
  • Perform manual duties in the clean-up of scattered refuse and ensure customer containers are replaced properly.
  • May be required to work during emergency situations and assist other routes as needed.
Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently (unassisted) 800-1000 times a day.
  • Ability to push or pull 50 pounds independently (unassisted) 800-1000 times a day.
  • Ability to work 8-12 hours in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to ride on the outside of the truck while servicing residential customers in low MPH areas.
Work Environment

Works in a variety of environment conditions, including wide temperature and weather variations, including heat, cold, snow, rain, wind; noise and vibrations, fumes, odors, and dust.
