Job Summary:

Bradford Health Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreational Therapist to join our team. As a Recreational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing patients with Adventure-Based Counseling and leisure activities to support their treatment of chemical dependency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patients with Adventure-Based Counseling and leisure activities to support their treatment of chemical dependency.
  • Conduct leisure assessments and develop activity plans to meet the needs of patients.
  • Implement and coordinate a variety of recreational activities for patients.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or related field and current certification (CTRS) or other recognized national certification.
  • At least one year of experience in the field of behavioral health.
  • Valid Alabama driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • CPR and first aid certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional demeanor.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to walk, run, bend, and stand continuously for approximately 3 to 4 hours per 8-hour shift.


Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations.


Must be able to see at 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable).


Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients, and prospective clients.


Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.


Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness to perform the job in a safe manner.


Regular attendance is required.


Other duties as assigned by Treatment/Program Director.
