Job Summary

CoxHealth is seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide supportive advocacy to patients and their families to overcome barriers to progression-of-care and facilitate a safe and coordinated discharge to the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic recreation services to patients and their families, promoting physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless transitions and coordinated care.
  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and progress monitoring to inform treatment decisions.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes, maintaining accurate and timely records.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field.
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in mental health or age-specific population preferred.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
