Role Summary:
This position entails independently conducting audit evaluations during intricate audit processes for various Lines of Business (LOBs).
Key duties encompass the independent design and execution of audit assessments, evaluating issues for their impact on business operations, and providing recommendations regarding severity ratings, while fostering relationships with business partners.
Expectations for this role include assessing the control framework, promoting an inclusive workplace culture, utilizing product, business, and technical knowledge, and aiding team members in their professional growth.
This role is situated within the audit team focused on Global Corporate and Investment Banking.Our audits encompass sectors such as equity capital markets, debt capital markets, investment banking, corporate banking, and leasing.
The team also oversees audits related to credit risk management and global payment services across EMEA.The selected candidate will collaborate with teams located in EMEA and APAC, as the majority of our audits are conducted on a global scale.
An Audit Supervisor is anticipated to operate independently within the designated area and may lead smaller audit projects.Key Responsibilities:
- Implements audit strategies to ensure effective risk-based auditing by defining audit scopes and programs, while utilizing automation and innovative methodologies in a timely and high-quality manner.
- Applies extensive knowledge of products, business operations, and technical aspects to effectively challenge management and enhance the control environment.
- Evaluates impacts on business processes, controls, and strategies to provide informed recommendations on severity ratings.
- Contributes to the drafting of audit reports and communicates audit findings with business leaders.
- Facilitates the development of peers and teams through on-the-job training and promotes an inclusive work atmosphere.
- Cultivates business partner relationships, primarily with line management, to enhance business understanding.
- Employs innovative tools to execute audit tasks more efficiently (e.g., testing).
- Supports multiple projects by leveraging technology and analytical techniques to operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in internal auditing, front office control, compliance, or risk management, with at least 2-3 years in the banking sector.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Global Corporate and Investment Banking sectors (e.g., equity capital markets, debt capital markets, investment banking, corporate banking, leasing, etc.).
- Experience in risk and control identification and assessment.
- Proven experience in mentoring less experienced team members.
