About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our Behaviors team at Cruise. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning models that enable our autonomous vehicles to navigate complex urban environments safely and efficiently.

As a technical leader, you will drive the development of new algorithms and techniques to overcome challenges on urban roads. You will work closely with our Perception and Robotics partners to integrate data from various sensors and simulation environments. Your expertise in machine learning and deep learning will be essential in developing and refining models that meet our high standards for safety and performance.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects, from building globally consistent predictions of agent behavior to generating safe and feasible trajectories for our vehicles. You will also collaborate with our engineering teams to ensure that our models are integrated seamlessly into our autonomous vehicle systems.

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer who is passionate about self-driving car technology and its impact on the world. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement machine learning models for autonomous vehicle behaviors

Requirements
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Extensive experience in machine learning and deep learning
  • Strong programming skills in Python or C++
  • Excellent mathematical reasoning skills, especially with probability
  • Passionate about self-driving car technology and its impact on the world
  • Attention to detail and a passion for truth
  • Track record of efficiently solving complex problems collaboratively on larger teams
