Job Description

Cruise is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our Behaviors team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning models to enable our autonomous vehicles to navigate complex urban environments safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop machine learning algorithms to predict the behavior of nearby agents, such as other cars, pedestrians, and animals.
  • Collaborate with our Perception team to integrate sensor data and simulation data to build accurate models.
  • Work closely with our Robotics and Controls team to ensure the car follows the planned path accurately.
  • Drive efforts to optimize and refine on-road performance for models on the path to production.
  • Lead the development of new technologies and strategies to overcome challenges on urban roads.

Requirements:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in CS, CE, EE, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Extensive experience with SOTA deep learning techniques, including training LLMs and other large foundational models.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or C++.
  • Excellent mathematical reasoning skills, especially with probability.
  • Passionate about self-driving car technology and its impact on the world.
