Educational Program Facilitator

Position Overview
The S2 Teachers play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and educational atmosphere by showcasing expertise in the designated curriculum and effectively developing and executing lesson plans. These educators will assist tutors, lead academic instruction, evaluate students' work, and provide targeted instruction and interventions as necessary.
S2 Teachers will also offer guidance to Lead Facilitators, Tutors, and volunteers during the academic segments of the S2 program, ensuring that participants receive appropriate and strategic academic support. They will provide clear instructions, support tutors, and observe the academic instruction delivered by facilitators, tutors, and volunteers.
The S2 program is dedicated to serving children at PA STEAM Academy Charter School. The Teacher will utilize resources such as ARC, K-5 Math Teaching Resources, Great Minds, Engage NY Mathematics, and Eureka Mathematics during instructional periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive student records, notes, and observations.
- Update daily tutor sheets and generate progress reports.
- Administer pre-assessments and ongoing assessments, as well as any necessary milestone testing.
- Collaborate with students, teachers, and parents to establish specific achievement goals and individual learning plans when required.
- Provide timely feedback to the Site Director.
- Encourage positive reinforcement for students.
- Participate in all training sessions and demonstrate a willingness to learn and assist with other assigned curricula.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education; certification in Elementary Education is mandatory.
- Strict adherence to confidentiality in all aspects.
- Current experience in a classroom setting.
- Ability to create interactive and engaging lessons.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Understanding of cultural flexibility and experience working with diverse populations, particularly urban youth.
- Strong interpersonal communication and classroom management skills.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Completion of training as a Mandated Reporter in accordance with PA Act 153.
- Compliance with Child Protection Clearances as mandated by PA Act 153, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
- Commitment to the Mission of The Salvation Army.
