The Role

We are seeking a skilled Recovery Specialist to join our team at the Latinas y Ninos Center. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide holistic, integrated care to clients, ensuring the coordination of all services and promoting a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement safety and security protocols, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
  • Report safety concerns to authorities and staff.
  • Facilitate client safety checks and document results.
  • Support patients in milieu management and program service engagement.
  • Create a welcoming and healthy environment for all patients.
  • Ensure intake and discharge processes are followed.
  • Conduct safety assessments and complete documentation.
  • Act as a key partner in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  • Ensure end-of-shift reports and documentation are completed timely.
  • Manage electronic health records and participate in crisis de-escalation.
  • Facilitate groups and coordinate client activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • LADC II or LADC III preferred.
  • Knowledge of addiction recovery process or willingness to acquire within six months.
  • Counseling and Substance Use training.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Overdose Prevention training.
  • Ability to relate to a substance use treatment population in a sensitive manner.
  • Interest in working in a multicultural setting.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This role requires regular walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as talking or hearing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
