Automotive Safety Officer - Ken Garff Automotive Group

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the General Manager or designated supervisor, the Automotive Safety Officer is responsible for securing and overseeing dealership premises during non-operational hours, adhering to established corporate and security protocols. The role involves executing various tasks as directed by management while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver prompt and professional service to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain a polished appearance and a tidy work environment.
  • Address customer concerns in a friendly and professional manner, escalating serious issues to management.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the dealership grounds to identify unauthorized access or potential security threats.
  • Ensure that all facilities, including offices and surrounding areas, are secured at designated times, while noting any safety or fire hazards.
  • Monitor for and report any irregular activities.
  • Secure entry points at specified times and patrol the property, checking for unlocked doors and maintaining communication with the main gate.
  • Initiate alarms or contact emergency services in the event of fire or unauthorized individuals on the premises.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and exemplify a positive attitude and performance standards.
  • Keep an updated list of emergency contacts and management numbers readily available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The qualifications outlined below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, authorized to work in the U.S., possess a valid driver’s license, and maintain a professional appearance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.

Candidates must be flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and nights, and must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver’s license.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficiency in inventory control software, internet navigation, and Microsoft Office applications is necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands for various tasks, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. The role may require lifting up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, utilizing office equipment such as copiers, faxes, printers, computers, and telephones.
