About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Auditor to join our team at the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury. As an Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting audits in counties surrounding Knox County in Tennessee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine and review records, reports, financial statements, information systems, and management practices for state and local government entities and other organizations receiving public funds.
  • Evaluate the fairness of financial statement presentation, the adequacy of internal controls, compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, and grant agreements, and the efficiency and effectiveness of an entity's operations.
  • Produce high-quality work and take ownership of various audit tasks or projects assigned.
  • Work well individually and in a team environment, and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a minimum of 24 semester hours in accounting.
  • Coursework in computer information systems, information security, computer science, and data analytics is a plus.
  • Candidates should note that while a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is not required for employment, it is strongly encouraged for further advancement as an auditor in our office.
