About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radar Systems Test Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Careers. As a key member of our Hardware Integration Center, you will play a critical role in supporting the production floor and contributing to the success of our PATRIOT radar production contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a dynamic production environment in a test engineering role, ensuring the smooth operation of our radar systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex radar level issues on subsystems, including Receiver, Exciter, Transmitter, Antenna, and Power.
  • Work from schematics and drawings to understand radar diagnostic failures and troubleshoot using common test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Perform root cause analysis on systemic radar issues and collaborate with feeder areas to resolve failed subassemblies.
  • Work closely with union technicians on a daily basis throughout the test process.
  • Interact daily with operations, quality, process/mechanical, and production control (PC) regarding urgent test needs.
  • Review system level test data for compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with maintenance/test department to ensure test stations are fully functional.
  • Develop and update factory test procedures as needed.
  • May require overtime on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • 4 years of Production or Systems Integration and Test experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience testing PATRIOT radars is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret failing test data and navigate schematic diagrams to diagnose fault modes.
  • Ability to understand radar systems technology in the areas of test and analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of RF test equipment.
  • Experience preparing and executing factory test procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements that may require working overtime shifts to support schedule as needed.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to identify and document any anomalies or inconsistencies in the radar test process.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with Common PDM, using it to look up assembly drawings, parts lists, schematics, and test requirement specifications.
  • Ability to operate under minimal supervision and work independently.
