Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team at Peraton. The successful candidate will work within the Compute Team, utilizing a massively parallel enterprise platform built with Java on Free and Open-Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo. This platform enables execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based software applications using Java and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize software development projects.
  • Work with a variety of technologies, including Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software code, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the software development process.
Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.
  • Four (4) years of directly relatable software engineering experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java, database technologies (MySQL, Postgres, etc.), and have some experience with Map Reduce programming model and technologies (such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.).
  • Possess additional knowledge of Linux OS development, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible.
  • One of the following certifications is required: AWS Certified Developer-Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), or Elastic Certified Engineer.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
