Body Shop Technician Job Description

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Body Shop Technician to join our team. This role involves performing all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck body repair mechanic under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical and body repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components, maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Work with and train new technicians as directed.
  • Follow safety rules and company policies at all times.
  • Communicate with Foreman regarding parts availability for repairs.
  • Disassemble trucks, evaluate parts lists, and estimate repair costs.
  • Record detailed descriptions of troubleshooting and repair steps, results, and other relevant information.
  • Accurately record repairs in Paccar Solutions or CDK.
  • Save warrantable parts, tag, wash, box, and turn them in to the correct location.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, clean tools, and return them to their proper location.
  • Minimize comebacks and ensure customer vehicles function properly after repair.
  • Advise the next shift's technicians of any special instructions or concerns.
  • Maintain efficiency and productivity goals set by the Body Shop Manager.
  • Complete additional duties and repairs as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma required.
  • College degree or trade school certificate preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a related field preferred but not required.
  • Basic computer skills.
