We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Nurse Specialist to join our team at Sentara Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our cardiac care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with cardiac conditions, including heart failure, coronary artery disease, and arrhythmias.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, including physical exams, medical histories, and diagnostic tests, to identify potential cardiac issues.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide education to patients and their families on cardiac care and management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • BSN or MSN degree in nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac nursing, with a focus on cardiology or cardiovascular care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
