Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

At Intensive Treatment Systems, we are seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at one of our outpatient substance abuse clinics. As a key member of our medical staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our treatment programs.
Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for working with patients struggling with addiction. As a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for conducting medical assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing education to patients on medication management, health promotion, and disease prevention.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough medical assessments, including history and physical exams, to identify patients' medical needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage medications, including Schedule II narcotics, under the supervision of the Medical Director or Clinical Program Physician
- Provide education to patients on safe sex practices, needle usage, and hepatitis A, B, and C prevention, as well as referrals for testing and treatment
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate services with specialists or primary care physicians
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to company policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field
- Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner through the Arizona Board of Nursing
- Current DEA number and ability to obtain and maintain a DEA X waiver
- Experience working with patients struggling with addiction and/or substance use disorders
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues
- A competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience
