Beebe Healthcare is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of radiologic principles and theory, anatomy, and pathology processes.
- Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent.
- Explain procedures to patients and families, and answer any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation.
- Recognize clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Correctly identify patients and their files, and track patients according to department procedures.
- Maintain exposure readings within the As Low As Reasonably Achievable limits.
- Demonstrate the effective use of radiation protection procedures and patient safety measures.
- Report, document, and correct any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions.
- Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean environment, and ensure rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies.
- Operate imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
- Participate in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services, and meetings.
- Recent hospital experience as a Radiologist Technologist is preferred.
- Participation in a JCERT-accredited school of radiology is required.
- Successful completion of the Delaware Limited State Radiation License Exam is required.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Capability to perform on-call, shift, vacation, and weekends when required.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members.
- Able to withstand crisis situations.
- Has skills to provide customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
- Knowledge and experience with electronic health records.
- DE RADIATION - Delaware State Radiation license.
- DE LICENSED - Licensed in the state of DE.
- BLS - Basic Life Saving certification.
- Associates Degree in a related field.
