Job Summary:

The successful candidate will conduct thorough psychological assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide individual therapy to address a range of issues including depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment disorders, and cognitive impairments.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build rapport with residents and families, and strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychological assessments to evaluate residents' mental health, emotional well-being, and social functioning.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Provide individual therapy to address a range of issues including depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment disorders, and cognitive impairments.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to the geriatric population.
  • Respond to and manage emotional and psychological crises as they arise, providing immediate support and intervention as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Psychologist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
  • Previous experience in a mental health role, preferably in a geriatric or long-term care setting.
