Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Equipment Safely: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies, while operating equipment such as paper balers, front-end loaders, bobcats, and forklifts.
  • Transport and Load Materials: Safely transport and load materials into trailers or railcars, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of equipment before and after use to ensure safe operation and identify any potential issues.
  • Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor Material Quality: Identify and address any unacceptable material, ensuring that only high-quality materials are processed and transported.
  • Interact with Customers: Provide professional interaction with internal and external customers, ensuring excellent customer service and communication.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Must pass a written and operational test to be licensed to operate forklift and bobcat equipment.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including prolonged physical exertions, such as sitting, standing, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Language Proficiency: Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to Weather Elements: Ability to work in plant conditions with exposure to weather elements.
  • High Traffic Conditions: Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
