As a Pediatric Ophthalmologist, you will play a vital role in our team, working closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive eye care services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric eye conditions, including refractive errors, strabismus, and amblyopia.
  • Perform surgical procedures, including cataract removal, glaucoma surgery, and strabismus correction.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, optometrists, and orthoptists, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in pediatric ophthalmology, participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship program.
  • Board certification in pediatric ophthalmology.
  • South Carolina medical license and DEA registration.
