Pulmonary Therapist Specialist

Danbury Hospital is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist 3 to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients in a cost-effective and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in critical and lab assessments, as well as the ability to work across multiple campuses.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing ventilators, performing non-invasive mask ventilation, and drawing arterial blood gases. They will also need to analyze results and make recommendations for therapy or changes in therapy. Additionally, the Respiratory Therapist 3 will be expected to educate patients on their condition and provide guidance on changing to a home regime to reduce re-admission.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have an Associate's degree in respiratory therapy and hold a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification. They must also have at least one year of experience in the field and possess advanced level ventilator management skills for adults and NICU.
Working Conditions
This role requires manual dexterity, significant occupational risk, and physical effort exerting up to 50 lbs of force. Candidates must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
