Heavy Equipment Technician

We operate a vertically integrated business with a platform of 50 strategically located collection, transfer, and disposal assets, including waste-to-energy facilities, transfer stations, ash monofills, landfills, and fleets of rail cars and collection vehicles.
We process over 11 million tons of waste annually, converting 6.7 million tons into clean, renewable energy that powers 340,000 homes. We also recycle over 234,000 tons of plastic, paper, and metals from the waste stream.
We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic who will repair and maintain our fleet of heavy equipment under supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance services
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles
- Perform service calls
- Review and complete repairs identified on Vehicle Condition Reports
- Assist Lead Mechanics as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA and organizational standards
- Complete paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounts for applied times
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Equivalent of (1) high school diploma or GED certification
- Valid driver's license
- Physical Requirements:
- Handle tools, equipment, fine motor skills
- Reach with hands and arms
- Climb and walk on heights often greater than 4 feet
- Occasionally must be able to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
