Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the functionality of facility-related components, including lighting, restrooms, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and entry points.
  • Execute repairs and replacements in accordance with industry standards, ensuring a tidy work environment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, which involve inspections, cleaning, and adjustments of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Identify and rectify issues with building systems and equipment to guarantee safety and optimal performance.
  • Respond swiftly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
  • Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for all building systems and equipment.
  • Perform regular inspections and tests of safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and emergency lighting.
  • Ensure cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the facility, including common areas, restrooms, and outdoor spaces.
  • Carry out minor carpentry, painting, and general repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment effectively.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for the acquisition of necessary materials and services.
  • Work in conjunction with other team members and departments to address facility-related needs and projects.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of company events and meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in facility maintenance.
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including elevated or confined spaces.
  • Competence in performing minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks, such as changing ballasts, faucets, or HVAC filters.
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other areas of the facility as needed.
  • Strong work ethic and adaptability to maintenance procedures.
  • Previous experience in the food production sector is advantageous.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Availability for overtime and weekend work is expected.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS).
  • Experience with energy management and sustainability practices.

Working Environment:

  • This role may involve working in diverse environmental conditions, including hot, cold, or wet environments.
  • The position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift weights exceeding 50 pounds is necessary.
