About the Position

This role is an on-campus, in-person position that supports the largest, most diverse academic unit on campus.

The Marketing & Communications Specialist for Dedman College of Humanities & Sciences works closely with the Dedman College departments, institutes, development, recruiting colleagues in regions, schools and units to create and implement the school's marketing and communications strategy and website management to internal and external audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Dedman College website and create, manage and implement the school's marketing and communications strategy.
  • Develop and execute social media and content development, visual materials, website, the Dedman College Newsletter, and copywriting for internal and external audiences.
  • Communicate with partners across campus to reach marketing and communications project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with editorial and visual style, and web design and accessibility best practices, across all marketing efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, journalism, creative writing, communications, English or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Ability to effectively articulate complex ideas both in writing and verbally.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions.
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
