Job Summary

This senior instrumentation design engineer position requires experience designing instrumentation and control systems, field instrumentation, control panels, loop drawings, camera and security subsystems, and network design. The ideal candidate will use electrical, mechanical, chemical, and/or computer engineering principles to provide design of instrumentation and control (I&C) systems for simultaneous projects spanning multiple customers.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing panel hardware drawings for provided control and network panels based on project requirements, standardized products, and budget constraints.
  • Interpreting contract documents to determine installation requirements, including panel sizing, location, and interior versus exterior placement.
  • Developing hardwired IO lists using standard templates.
  • Coordinating and managing drafting efforts to efficiently generate AutoCAD drawings.
  • Generating Panel Hardware Submittals for review and approval by engineers and owners.
  • Responding to and following up on submittal comments.
  • Performing basic panel checkout, excluding PLC programming.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with field instrumentation hardware and control panel design.
  • Experience with circuit design.
  • Familiarity with UL standards.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • At least 3 years of experience with AutoCAD or similar software.
Travel Requirements

This position involves an estimated less than 20% overnight travel for project site visits, meetings, and customer interactions.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
