Civil Engineer Position for Precast Concrete Expert

About the Role:
">We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team as a Structural Engineer in Winchester, VA. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing cost-efficient precast concrete systems, connections, and components.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering calculations and details for all products and connections, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Independently manage engineering design aspects of a project with minimal assistance or guidance, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- Review contract documents to be familiar with project requirements, providing valuable insights to the team.
- Attend project meetings, leading coordination meetings when necessary, and effectively communicating with stakeholders.
- Write and review requests for information (RFI), ensuring clarity and precision.
- Resolve engineering design issues independently, utilizing your analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Assist others with resolving engineering design issues, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Check engineering design calculations and details of others, including external consultants/subcontractors, for accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to Metromont standards and Engineering Design Process.
- Review erection drawings, master shop tickets, and any additional shop tickets to ensure designs and standards are followed.
- Become licensed in states where engineering work is performed and, when assigned, review and stamp erection drawings, calculations, and repair details.
- Evaluate design cost as compared to estimate, taking appropriate action to optimize project outcomes.
- Complete repairs without assistance, demonstrating your ability to work independently.
- Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of relevant engineering experience - internal or external.
- Previous precast knowledge preferred, but not required.
- Highly dependable with a strong work ethic, eager to learn, and able to work individually or on a team.
- Able to maintain a balanced perspective about change, adapt when necessary, while placing value in consistency of processes.
- Positive outlook, computer skills, and analytical thinking with above-average problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, strong personal organization skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Above-average assertiveness, proactive in addressing project issues, and excellent communication skills.
- Able to document ongoing information on projects for record-keeping purposes and adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes.
- Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors.
Education and Certifications:
- BS Civil Engineering required; structural emphasis preferred.
- PE Certification required.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, Rx, dental, vision insurance, telehealth, and health savings account available on your first day of employment.
