Senior Environmental Scientist
Overview: Michigan Consulting & Environmental is looking for a dedicated full-time Senior Environmental Scientist to enhance our Brighton, Michigan operations. This role involves working collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, project managers, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive observation and testing services for geotechnical and environmental development initiatives across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct monitoring and testing of soil, core samples, and water using calibrated instruments.
- Perform environmental sampling and monitoring activities.
- Analyze and interpret analytical data, producing technical reports to facilitate regulatory compliance.
- Document observations in support of scientific investigations and engineered solutions.
- Execute Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments and evaluations.
- Prepare cost estimates and proposal documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including local, state, and federal regulators, project managers, and engineers.
- Oversee field operations and collaborate with clients as necessary.
- Assist with project management tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of experience in environmental consulting.
- Bachelor's degree in geology, engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Certification as an Industrial Stormwater Operator.
- Asbestos Inspector certification.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Ability to perform fieldwork in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel to job sites, including potential overnight stays.
- Valid Michigan Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Physical capability to navigate job sites and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation: Salary will be determined based on experience and skill set.
