Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Support Staff Assistant to join our team at Boone County Schools. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our school clinic, ensuring the smooth operation of our attendance and demographic data systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents, students, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Operate computer and peripheral equipment, utilizing various software to enter, revise, and update information, generate records, reports, lists, scheduling, and summaries as needed.
  • Input all data to enroll students into the attendance and demographic data bank, including addresses, health records, lunch status, and bus assignment.
  • Maintain logs, medication records, and files related to the school clinic.
  • Communicate with other departments and/or schools to compile information and prepare reports as required.
  • Provide technical information concerning policies and procedures of assigned attendance program or office according to established guidelines.
  • Compose and prepare correspondence requesting, providing, or verifying information.
  • Assist school personnel in improving student attendance.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
  • Keyboarding skills and the ability to type at a skill level of 35 words per minute.
  • Specialized skills in filing, telephone, and copy machine operations.
  • Ability to read and follow written directions.
  • One-year experience entering data on automated office equipment and using software.
  • Experience handling confidential information.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to communicate and work effectively with students and staff.
  • Certification in American Red Cross/American Heart Association CPR and First Aid.
