Highspeed Staffing is seeking a dedicated Senior Surveying Technician with expertise in Department of Transportation (DOT) surveying. This role is crucial for providing advanced surveying office support to transportation land surveyors and plays a vital part in various projects. The Senior Surveying Technician will work closely with field personnel and other CAD specialists, civil engineers, and land surveyors to facilitate the development of transportation surveys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize Bentley software to create site plans that comply with DOT standards.
  • Process, extract, and interpret field survey data effectively.
  • Assist in gathering information related to the survey scope and limits of work for field data collection, and guide field crews as necessary.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop comprehensive plans.
  • Mentor junior DOT Technicians to enhance team skills.
  • Maintain organized site data and plans for efficient access.
  • Occasional fieldwork may be required, including site inspections and quality assurance checks.
  • Perform additional related tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of relevant experience in DOT drafting for transportation surveys.
  • Strong understanding and application of surveying principles.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines within a collaborative team setting.
  • Excellent coordination and organizational skills across multiple departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in DOT drafting using Geopak, OpenRoads, and MicroStation.
  • Familiarity with DOT surveying and engineering design projects.
  • Experience in preparing exhibits and drafting descriptions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting.
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center.
  • At least 2 years of field surveying experience.
