Highly Skilled IT Systems Specialist Wanted

Rincon Research Corporation (RRC) is a dynamic employee-owned company that specializes in digital signal processing solutions for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities.
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our multi-disciplinary R&D environment. As an IT Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in creating custom digital signal processing solutions and leveraging them to make an operational mission impact.
Responsibilities- System Support: Troubleshoot problems, document solutions, and provide system support through effective problem-solving skills.
- Proactive Planning: Plan system upgrades, capacity improvements, and technology evolutions to ensure maximum service uptime.
- Operations Cycle Execution: Execute monthly operations cycles, including system patching, monitoring, maintenance, and tuning through automation where possible.
- Installation and Configuration: Perform, optimize, and automate OS, software, and service installations to build scalable systems.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure components while implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Linux Experience: Experience with Linux systems, including deployment, service migration, and lifecycle management.
- Configuration Tools: Experience with configuration tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Storage Platforms: Experience with storage platforms, such as SAN, NAS, and direct attached storage.
- Enterprise Services: Experience managing and maintaining enterprise services such as GitLab or Harbor.
- Patch Management: Experience managing and resolving vendor OS and software patches and vulnerability notices.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance.
- Citizenship: US citizenship required.
- Disaster Recovery: Experience with disaster recovery processes, including backup software, and policy creation.
- Scripting: Experience with scripting such as task automation with Python or bash.
- Complex Task Breakdown: Ability to break down complex tasks into meaningful steps.
- Leadership: The ideal candidate is able to develop and communicate a roadmap or plan, then bring others through mentoring, training, and positive support.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of directly related experience.
- Vendor Certifications: Vendor certification, such as RedHat, AWS, or GCP.
- Clearance: TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 10%.
The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
