About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our cardiac catheterization lab, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist hospital and medical staff in the performance of invasive cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty, under the direction of a qualified physician.
  2. Monitor patient hemodynamic status and ECG, collect and enter patient information, and generate reports at procedure completion.
  3. Prepare patients for procedures, including obtaining medical histories, reviewing lab work, and educating patients and families.
  4. Prepare and position patients, connect monitoring devices, and document patient medical records.
  5. Assist cardiologists with arterial closure devices and perform sheath removal and hemostasis.
  6. Act as a resource for staff members in the use and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment.
  7. Collect data for the ACC-NCDR and Connecticut Registry databases.
  8. Participate in other duties as needed, including inventory management, cath lab QI, and transporting patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills and competence in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
  • Experience in endovascular, interventional, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred.
