About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our cardiac catheterization lab, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist hospital and medical staff in the performance of invasive cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty, under the direction of a qualified physician.
- Monitor patient hemodynamic status and ECG, collect and enter patient information, and generate reports at procedure completion.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including obtaining medical histories, reviewing lab work, and educating patients and families.
- Prepare and position patients, connect monitoring devices, and document patient medical records.
- Assist cardiologists with arterial closure devices and perform sheath removal and hemostasis.
- Act as a resource for staff members in the use and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment.
- Collect data for the ACC-NCDR and Connecticut Registry databases.
- Participate in other duties as needed, including inventory management, cath lab QI, and transporting patients.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and competence in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
- Experience in endovascular, interventional, and diagnostic procedures.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred.
