Job Summary

The Electrical Instrumentation Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our electrical and electronic systems. This includes programmable logic controllers (PLC), distributed control systems, AC/DC drives, relay logic circuits, and equipment software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair multiple electrical and mechanical systems across the plant.
  • Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams to ensure accurate maintenance and repairs.
  • Modify existing systems to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Monitor control systems and equipment performance, conducting visual inspections of human-machine interfaces to identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on assigned systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring proper operations.
  • Diagnose system problems and take corrective actions as necessary, utilizing Computer Maintenance Management System to maintain accurate equipment histories and capture work activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and apply its principles to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Collaborate with in-house personnel or contracted services to ensure systems are maintained and projects are completed efficiently.
  • Organize reference materials, computer systems, manuals, and prints with the Engineering Department and Maintenance team.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, participating in safety inspections and identifying and correcting hazards.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Operate industrial equipment, such as forklifts and scissor lifts, to safely perform maintenance on machinery.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Electronic/Electrical Technologies or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of job-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and technical knowledge of plant control systems.
  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Formal training in Allen Bradley PLCs and software, including troubleshooting, programming, and interfacing.
