Laundry Support Staff

Job Summary
The Colville Tribes is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laundry Department Assistant to join our team. As a Laundry Department Assistant, you will be responsible for performing the day-to-day activities of the laundry department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Maintain an adequate supply of linen at all times to meet the needs of residents.
- Perform laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding.
- Operate laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and folding machines.
- Monitor and maintain laundry supplies, including detergents, fabric softeners, and other cleaning agents.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that laundry operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Knowledge of long-term care settings and laundry practices.
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc.
- Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 35 pounds to a minimum height of 2 feet as well as the ability to push, pull, move, and/or carry said weight a minimum of 15 feet.
- Ability to work independently.
- Successful clearance of a Criminal History background inquiry that indicates no felony or convictions on the DSHS Secretary's list.
Working Conditions
The Laundry Department Assistant will work in a fast-paced laundry environment with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential for this role.
