Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team at West Hills Animal Hospital & Emergency Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and attention to our patients and boarders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Care and Handling: Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising.
  • Maintenance and Sanitation: Clean and maintain kennel areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for the animals.
  • Assistance and Support: Assist with tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming, as well as monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the veterinary staff.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinary staff.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working with animals is preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques, familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures, and ability to handle heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with animal care.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
