ROLE SUMMARY:

The Refrigeration Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the planning and execution of efficient and timely maintenance required for the operation of all refrigeration systems within our facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leading and coordinating maintenance and refrigeration teams
  • Managing the Process Safety Management (PSM) program in collaboration with contractors, vendors, or internal engineering teams for equipment modifications or installations
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to equipment
  • Installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting ammonia, hydraulic, and electrical systems; demonstrating exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and implementing safety programs
  • Adhering to PSM regulations, including the proper handling and disposal of refrigerants in accordance with OSHA guidelines
  • Providing training on the use of personal protective equipment
  • Implementing ergonomic improvements within the facility
  • Coordinating team member schedules and managing attendance records
  • Conducting monthly safety meetings
  • Performing additional responsibilities as assigned across all shifts of refrigeration maintenance
  • Developing and maintaining PSM documentation, including policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Possessing thorough knowledge of PSM regulations, including OSHA's standards and refrigeration safety protocols
  • Understanding high-pressure water systems, boiler systems, and other related processes within a washdown environment
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Post-secondary education including specialized training, vocational school, or college courses; a combination of education and experience is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in ammonia refrigeration is preferred, along with strong leadership and management skills to effectively oversee a team and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications: Preferred certifications include those from the Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA) as a Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or similar maintenance software.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role involves supervising a team engaged in similar tasks and activities.

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel of 1 to 5 trips per year may be necessary.
