About the Position

As a Mechanical Systems Technician at TruRoots, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial machinery.

Monday to Thursday, with occasional overtime and weekend shifts.

PAY RANGE

$28.15 - $32.75

REPORTS TO

Maintenance Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all safety protocols throughout the facility, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds while maintaining proper body mechanics, even in challenging positions.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment failures, documenting all work and parts used through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Conduct inspections of electrical machinery, diagnose operational issues, determine corrective actions, and execute necessary repairs.
  • Assemble and install various electrical circuits, systems, and equipment, including motors, controllers, and switches.
  • Interpret and modify basic electrical schematics for installation purposes.
  • Operate and maintain generating and power distribution equipment.
  • Troubleshoot complex Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) issues and assist production staff in resolving technical challenges.
  • Complete work orders, requisitions, and inspection reports, maintaining accurate records of all tasks performed.
  • Install and repair electrical conduits and cables, ensuring proper connections and grounding.
  • Support the management of changes in programmable systems.
  • Participate in control system upgrades and capital improvement projects, identifying potential issues to mitigate downtime.
  • Assist on the production line as needed to enhance operational knowledge and ensure continuous workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and conducting quality inspections.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, including wrenches, drills, and grinders.
  • Demonstrate proper sampling and testing methods for wastewater systems.
  • Conduct maintenance on water and wastewater systems to ensure optimal functionality.
SELECTION CRITERIA

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electromechanical systems.
  • 5 years of experience as an electrician is preferred.
  • Proficient in using electrical testing equipment and familiar with electrical distribution systems and safety codes.
  • Knowledge of current electrical control technologies, including AC/DC drives and PLCs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and wastewater systems.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to work safely in various environmental conditions.
