Position Overview

This exceptional opportunity is situated within a leading oncology clinic.

Role Summary

The Registered Nurse will deliver professional nursing care to patients in accordance with established protocols and practices within an Oncology Clinic environment. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the diverse patient demographics, including late adolescents, adults, middle-aged individuals, and the elderly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the supervision of a physician.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures while ensuring efficient patient flow in examination rooms.
  • Document patient information, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication adjustments.
  • Uphold strict disinfection protocols to ensure patient safety.
  • Monitor and evaluate changes in patient conditions, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use and maintenance of ambulatory infusion pumps.
  • Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patient conditions and consulting treatment protocols.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Administer medications and blood products accurately, adhering to the correct dosage, route, and technique.
  • Provide education to patients and caregivers regarding the use of portable infusion pumps.
  • Document nursing assessments, patient education, and administration of fluids and medications in patient records.
  • Communicate relevant information and interventions to the supervising physician.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of nursing charges on patient fee slips.
  • Act as a resource for medical assistants and triage patient phone inquiries as needed.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in an oncology setting.
  • Current RN state license and registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Experience with chemotherapy administration is highly preferred.
