Job Summary

Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team in Anchorage, AK. As a key member of our corporate office, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of general ledger accounting, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial information, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish monthly and yearly financial statements, as well as other management reports as needed.
  • Financial Analysis: Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget, and assist in preparing annual budgets.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards, including GAAP, FAR, and other applicable guidelines.
  • Financial Planning: Assist in preparing financial plans and forecasts, and provide recommendations for financial improvements.
  • Team Management: Mentor and train lower-level staff, and provide guidance and support as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Five years Deltek Costpoint accounting system experience in a multicompany environment or similar ERP system, and two years of diversified accounting experience.
  • Skills: Knowledge and proficiency in the usage of computers, especially Microsoft Suite, and ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or CMA Certificate: Minimum of ten (10) or more years of experience in the field, and CPA or CMA certificate (or imminent CPA/CMA candidates).
Work Environment

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
