Job Title: Director and Professor School of Accounting

Job Summary:

The College of Business at Florida Atlantic University seeks a Director and Professor for the School of Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the school's academic programs, research, and community engagement efforts. The Director will also teach courses in accounting and serve as a mentor to students and faculty.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the School of Accounting's academic programs, including undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the school's growth and development.
  • Recruit and retain top faculty and staff for the school.
  • Engage with the community through outreach and service activities.
  • Teach courses in accounting and serve as a mentor to students and faculty.
  • Conduct research and publish in top-tier accounting journals.
  • Develop and manage the school's budget and resources.
  • Collaborate with other departments and colleges within the university to advance the school's mission.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution.
  • Experience in academic administration, including leadership and management roles.
  • Strong teaching and research record, with a focus on accounting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a leadership role in a School of Accounting or a similar academic unit.
  • Experience with accreditation processes and procedures.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
  • Experience with faculty development and mentoring.
