The A/V Installation Technician plays a crucial role in executing EMS SIMULATIONiQ A/V and IT project implementations at client locations. Collaboration is key; the technician will work closely with Project Managers, Client Support, Engineering, and Training teams to ensure that the systems installed by EMS uphold the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

This position is considered mid-level, serving as an advancement from the Installation Technician I role. Individuals in this role will have the autonomy to operate more independently on job sites while still receiving guidance from senior Installation Technicians. A solid technical foundation and familiarity with IT environments are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary on-site representative for EMS, engaging with clients, consultants, contractors, and technical service representatives.
  • Execute cable pulling and installation of A/V equipment, including rack assembly and computer setup.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to A/V hardware, automation control, audio DSP systems, and networking.
  • Assist in system testing and quality assurance of installed solutions.
  • May supervise installation technicians for specific tasks.
  • Integrate A/V and IT systems, including networking and Microsoft server infrastructures.
  • Manage low voltage A/V projects across various sectors, including hospitality and surveillance.
  • Maintain existing A/V and data infrastructure within the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in computer applications, including Windows Operating Systems, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and system design schematics.
  • Experience in low voltage cable pulling and termination.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, with a requirement of up to 75% travel.
  • Valid passport for international travel.
Education and Experience
  • InfoComm CTS certification is required within six months of employment.
  • InfoComm CTS-I certification is preferred.
  • A background in IT and networking technology is essential.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in audio-visual systems installation in commercial or residential settings.
  • Experience with Crestron control systems and BIAMP is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with video projection systems and video conferencing setups is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in construction environments, including the use of ladders and scaffolding.
  • Some tasks may require overhead work in ceilings.
  • The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
