Job Title: Logistics Support Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Support Specialist to join our team at Red River Commodities. This role focuses on managing and optimizing the logistics processes for imported commodities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Import Coordination: Coordinate the logistics of importing commodities, including coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant shipments.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare and review necessary documentation for imports, such as bills of lading, customs declarations, and compliance paperwork, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
  • Inventory Tracking: Monitor inventory levels of imported commodities, facilitating stock replenishment and minimizing shortages or excesses.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze logistics data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Utilize metrics to optimize shipping routes, costs, and delivery timelines.
  • Supplier Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding shipment schedules, delays, and documentation requirements.
  • Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with all customs regulations and industry standards, staying updated on changes in laws and practices affecting imported commodities.
  • Issue Resolution: Address any logistics-related issues that arise during the import process, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to resolve them promptly.
  • Reporting: Generate and present reports on logistics performance, inventory levels, and operational efficiency to management.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams, such as procurement, sales, and warehouse, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably with a focus on imported commodities.
  • Strong understanding of import/export regulations and customs procedures.
  • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
