Job Overview

Our Construction Management Division is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to contribute to a significant long-term initiative. This role is essential for ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Role Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for observing and documenting daily construction activities to ensure adherence to approved plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Your role will involve:

  • Preparing and maintaining comprehensive daily reports, including photographic documentation and precise measurements.
  • Coordinating with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Monitoring and documenting testing procedures, including hydrostatic pressure and equipment functionality tests.
  • Organizing field inspections for material sampling and testing, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Identifying and communicating potential changes in project conditions to the team.
  • Reviewing and providing insights on change order issues and tracking disputed work.
  • Ensuring compliance with stormwater pollution prevention plans as per local regulations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly pay estimates and accurately measuring pay quantities.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in inspecting heavy civil projects.
  • Strong proficiency in interpreting construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing deadlines effectively.
  • Physical capability to navigate active construction sites, including traversing uneven terrain and adhering to safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • An Associate's Degree or relevant certifications in Construction or Project Management.
