LPN - SOVAH Heart & Vascular Clinic

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at SOVAH Health - Danville. As a key member of our outpatient clinic, you will provide clinical support to patients under the supervision of our physicians. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities- Triage patients by phone and as walk-ins to ensure timely and efficient care.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and monitor patient flow to optimize clinic operations.
- Access patient reports and prepare charts with pertinent medical information.
- Obtain and record patient vital signs, medication lists, and other essential data.
- Perform office procedures and assist providers with minor clinical procedures.
- Manage prescriptions, including calling in/faxing and eRx prescriptions as directed by providers.
- Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures as ordered by providers.
- Obtain patient referrals, pre-authorizations, and pre-certifications using eCW.
- Perform various administrative duties, including answering phone calls, returning calls, and completing forms as requested.
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with RNs, physicians, patients, and families.
- May administer medications, injections, and immunizations, and utilize office and lab equipment for inpatient orders and lab tests.
- Serve as a liaison between drug reps and physicians, maintaining the drug sample closet.
- Complete nurse visit notes and visit codes appropriately, and complete assigned tasks through eCW.
- Monitor refrigerator temperatures and manage hazardous waste.
- Current LPN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact State required.
- Previous LPN experience preferred.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required.
