Position Overview

AZZ Inc. is seeking a dedicated Class A CDL Driver to join our team. This role involves operating a tractor-trailer combination to ensure timely and safe delivery of our products. The driver will be responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships while adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport goods to and from specified locations using a tractor-trailer truck.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and maintenance of vehicle supplies and equipment, including fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes.
  • Adhere to traffic regulations and established transportation procedures.
  • Assist in loading and unloading cargo from trucks, vans, and automobiles.
  • Report any mechanical issues encountered during operation.
  • Handle billing and payment collection for delivered goods.
  • Verify inventory loads against shipping documents.
  • Maintain accurate records, including vehicle logs and cargo documentation, in compliance with regulations.
  • Utilize maps and follow both written and verbal directions.
  • Complete necessary safety training for access to certain delivery sites.
  • Operate a forklift as needed for unloading materials.
  • Comply with all safety requirements set forth by AZZ and relevant locations.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL license without any suspensions.
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial driving.
  • Experience with flatbed trailer trucks is essential.
  • Preferred experience in hauling steel or industrial machinery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Forklift operation experience is required.

Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
