Job Title: Mental Health Technician

Join our team at Adventist Health as a Mental Health Technician, providing direct and indirect care to patients in a behavioral healthcare setting.

Job Summary:

As a Mental Health Technician, you will work under the direction of a registered nurse to provide patient care, using the nursing process to meet the needs of patients. You will care for patients of different age groups, using age-related interventions as assigned by the RN.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement psychosocial interventions, assist with basic activities of daily living, and maintain program function.
  • Conduct therapeutic interventions, facilitate group process, and interpret patient behavior or physical symptoms.
  • Perform data collection, physical examinations, and participate in planning care and implementing interventions.
  • Support patient and family through empathetic interaction and education, and identify and reinforce patient/family teaching plans.
  • Assist nursing staff with clerical duties and perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Two years' experience in a behavioral healthcare setting: Preferred
