Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drydock Master to join our team at NSC Technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing drydock operations, ensuring the safe and efficient installation of outfitting items, and coordinating with various departments to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee drydock operations, including the installation of outfitting items and the alignment of vessel components.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and guidelines, as well as company policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and facilities teams to address related issues.
  • Review and maintain production schedules, working with other crafts to meet delivery dates.
  • Train and develop subordinates, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Responsible for area cleanliness and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with different levels of management, craft, and departments.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to perform job duties with little or no supervision.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' experience in marine construction, preferably vessel repair.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to accomplish assignments within designated timeframes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, craft, and departments.
  • Must be willing to learn new techniques and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent follow-up skills.
  • Must be able to meet work schedule and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by customers' job hazard analysis.
Physical Demands
  • Correctable vision to 20/40; however, contact lenses are not permitted in certain production area positions.
  • Pass the Ishihara test for color blindness and be able to read and understand safety symbols and colors.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, squat, kneel, stoop, or climb stairs or a ladder of up to 15 steps.
  • Ability to carry items up to a maximum of 20 pounds.
Work Demands
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to respirator, hardhat, face shield, safety goggles, safety shoes (steel toe), safety harness, gloves or other protective clothing as determined by a Senesco Marine Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Must report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.
  • Must report to the Assembly Shop Manager all damage to equipment or broken and misused tools.
  • Must work at a pace consistent with meeting company deadlines.
