Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a Positive Learning Environment
    • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment
    • Provide individualized support to students to help them achieve their academic and behavioral goals
  • Manage Classroom Behaviors
    • Develop and implement strategies to de-escalate and manage challenging behaviors
    • Work with students to identify and address underlying issues that may be contributing to behavioral concerns
  • Report and Document Incidents
    • Accurately and thoroughly document incidents and behavioral concerns
    • Report incidents to appropriate staff and administrators as needed
  • Maintain a Safe and Organized Classroom
    • Ensure the classroom is safe and organized, with all necessary materials and resources available
    • Develop and implement strategies to prevent and manage incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behavior
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. education, psychology, sociology)
    • Previous experience working with students with behavioral challenges
  • Skills and Qualities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
