About the Role

As a seasoned project manager at Tesla, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the deployment phases of our Supercharger projects. This involves active program coordination of construction feasibility diligence, layout and design, utility design and easements, permitting, construction, site commissioning, and closeout.

About You

  • You have a minimum 3 years of experience in project management, site acquisition, and/or site development.
  • Prior work in telecom/solar/retail development as a project manager or site acquisition manager is valuable.
  • You are able to travel (50%) and have a working knowledge of power integration and utility design processes.
  • You are skilled in reading, understanding and redlining zoning and construction drawings, including utility designs and power distribution details.
  • You are able to function autonomously, working independent of a support staff, without formal requirements documentation, in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have an entrepreneurial approach to accomplishing tasks with far fewer resources than a big company would have.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a motivated and experienced project manager who can facilitate field site visits for due diligence on construction, engineering, utility, and cost. You will provide site reports and sketches as needed and review title reports for ownership, encumbrances, and easements; assess construction viability.

Responsibilities

  • You will plan, coordinate, approve, and review legal documents and plans for right-of-way/easement/property acquisitions.
  • You will serve as the liaison with utility company personnel to determine the best routing of primary electrical service.
  • You will meet with zoning/permitting personnel to understand jurisdictional approval requirements and opportunities for timeline reduction.
  • You will represent Tesla and the Supercharger program at public meetings.
  • You will track and manage status of all needed approvals.
  • You will review and approve construction bids and change orders.
  • You will provide support as needed to the general contractor during all phases of construction.

Estimated Salary

$88,000 - $300,000 annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits.
