Fumigation Supervisor

Position: Fumigation Supervisor
Compensation: $22.61 per hour | Training Compensation: $21.15 per hour
Shift: Night Shift; available for up to 7 days

The Fumigation Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the Sterilization Fumigation section within the production facility. This role involves managing the Sterilization Chambers, Nieco Fumigation Chambers, and Heating Chambers. A comprehensive understanding of material flow, including Finished Goods (FG) and Work in Progress (WIP), is essential to ensure compliance with company standards.

• Facilitate effective communication between team members and management.
• Implement production schedules with precision.
• Maintain Fork Lift Certification as required by the hiring organization.
• Operate PPO and Fumigation Equipment as necessary.
• Utilize computer systems such as JDE, DSI, and Markem.
• Ensure departmental adherence to safety and quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the Safety Accountability Matrix.
• Lead projects and tasks efficiently.
• Assist with Cycle Count and Inventory management within the department.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure job completion.
• Monitor incoming materials for defects and ensure compliance with size, bleaching, and dryness standards.
• Regularly inspect finished products for quality, including appearance and proper labeling.
• Follow safety protocols during treatment and off-gassing processes.
• Mentor team members during production to uphold product quality.
• Adhere to safety regulations.
• Participate in Safety Training sessions.
• Actively engage in safety initiatives to identify and rectify potential hazards.
• Demonstrate knowledge and application of Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Report any accidents or injuries immediately.
• Propose suggestions for safety improvements and assist in their implementation.

Education: High School diploma or GED is required.

Experience:

• QAC license must be acquired during the training period.
• 2-5 years of experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and interpret policies or procedures.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Ability to coach others regarding safety practices.
• Strong leadership capabilities and effective communication skills.
• Familiarity with GMPs.
• Experience in the food industry.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with all team members.
• Basic to intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Suite and JDE.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and weekends.
