Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team in San Francisco. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical staff in the safe storage and handling of important fine art, fashion, and other unique collections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Manage a team of UOVO professionals, including Warehouse and Inventory Control Supervisors, and Warehouse and Inventory Control Art Handlers, to ensure the highest level of client service.
  • Logistics and Operations: Oversee the efficient and safe handling of all storage in South San Francisco and Livermore, including racking, forklift training, OSHA compliance, barcoding, scanning, and inventory management.
  • Service Coordination: Ensure all service work is scheduled and executed in an efficient and timely manner in conjunction with the Account Management team.
  • Administrative Tasks: Make certain all paperwork, such as Warehouse Receipts, BOLs, and other inventory audits, are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Training and Development: Lead the training program for the San Francisco Warehouse and Inventory Control Operations teams in support of best handling practices, inventory control, NetSuite, and adherence to UOVO's policies and procedures.
  • Closeout and Coordination: Close out Work Orders in NetSuite and liaise and coordinate with all CA teams to ensure labor and other shared resources are adequately accounted for.
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment for San Francisco and process any pertinent accounts payable.
  • Warehouse Security: Make certain the warehouse is properly secured each day and functioning well.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members to the Warehouse and Inventory Control teams, working to ensure all applicable training is provided.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Regularly collaborate and communicate with other UOVO teams to ensure alignment on policies and procedures as well as other key initiatives.
  • Performance Management: In conjunction with other key stakeholders, establish goals and objectives in line with UOVO's Performance Management program; providing quarterly feedback and completing annual performance reviews for all direct reports and their teams.
  • Employee Engagement: Create a positive and engaging work environment by mentoring, coaching, and motivating direct team members and their teams if applicable.
Requirements
  • Team Player: A team player who can work in a dynamic environment.
  • Results-Driven: Comfortable in a results-driven workplace.
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated effective people management experience.
  • Logistics and Warehouse Experience: 7+ years warehouse, project management, and/or logistics experience (art logistics/warehousing is preferred).
  • Art Industry Knowledge: Experience interacting with art professionals.
  • Communication and Multitasking Skills: Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft office suite and collection management databases.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart, as well as 50 pounds without mechanical aid.
  • Warehouse Equipment Familiarity: Familiarity with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, j-bars, dollies, and other necessary warehouse equipment.
