Polysomnographic Technician

Job Summary:

As a Polysomnographic Technician at Highmark Health, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and treatments for sleep disorders. Your primary responsibility will be to perform all functions related to polysomnographic exams and multiple sleep latency testing. You will work under licensed medical direction and be responsible for maintaining proper calibration, quality control, and analysis of all polysomnographic equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform all polysomnograms and MSLTs according to clinical practice guidelines and departmental policy and procedures.
Maintain proper calibration, quality control, and analysis of all polysomnographic equipment.
Organize and prioritize workload and scheduling of patient testing in an efficient and effective manner.
Assist with billing documentation and maintain department records according to departmental policy/procedure.

Requirements:

Minimum requirements include CPR certification from the American Heart Association, Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate, and Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, graduate of polysomnography course or completion of an approved sleep lab training program, basic EEG course, RPSGT, CRT, RRT, or LPN, and sleep study testing experience.
